Smythesdale is a rural township on the Glenelg Highway, 18 km south-west of Ballarat & approx 12kms from the Delacombe Town Centre. In the town there are a few shops, the Court House hotel, two halls, a fire brigade, a Catholic church, a recreation reserve & a primary school which is the Smythesdale campus of the Woady Yaloak school. The Smythesdale Business Health & Community Hub aka ‘The Well’ is a fabulous facility which incorporates the Golden Plains Shire, the Woady Yaloak Historical Society, Ballarat Community Health & the Smythesdale Pharmacy which is open every day except Sunday.
