Warrenheip is a rural township about 2 kilometres beyond the eastern outskirt of Ballarat. It is at the junction of the railway lines from Geelong and from Melbourne to Ballarat.. Warrenheip consists mainly of large semi-rural blocks and is forever developing. Warrenheip is also the location for commercial businesses such as Smiths Truck & Equipment Group, Trounce Caravans and has it's own truck stop. There is also a few caravan parks along the Western Highway. Warrenheip has a general store, a public reserve, a church, a hall and a State school. Woodmans Hill motel is just inside the western edge of Warrenheip.
