Delacombe is a residential and industrial suburb approx. 5.9km south-west of the centre of Ballarat. Delacombe is situated in and around the Glenelg Highway with two primary schools, Lumen Christi Catholic School and Delacombe Primary School. Delacombe is one of the few Ballarat suburbs with its own shopping centres which includes major outlets such as Kmart & Woolworths along with additional outer stores including Bunnings, Dan Murphy’s, and McDonalds. Delacombe’s population has exploded over the last couple of years, with homes and residential land extending out toward Smythes Creek and incorporating the newer suburb of Winter Valley. This south west corner has transformed from rural living into a comprehensive buzzing suburb for young families and investors alike. The suburb was named after Major General Sir Rohan Delacombe, Governor of Victoria, 1963-74.
