Lexton 155 Skene Street
Charming Church Conversion with Modern Luxury
Welcome to 155 Skene Street, where charm and modern living blend seamlessly in a beautifully designed home. Inside, you'll find two generously sized bedrooms, with the master bedroom boasting exceptional built-in robe storage and a charming leadlight feature window. For those who need a dedicated space to work from home, the property also includes a study. The original church building was moved on site from Clemenston (just north of Creswick) in 1912 with the Sunday School and back section added sometime in the 1950's.
The heart of this home is undoubtedly the open-plan kitchen, dining, and meals area. Polished timber floors, high ceilings, and a freestanding wood heater create an inviting and warm atmosphere. The well-appointed kitchen is both functional and stylish, featuring a dual fuel freestanding oven, a dishwasher, a pantry, and whitewashed timber-lined walls.
The bathroom is a luxurious retreat, designed with relaxation in mind. It features a built-in bath, his and her showers, dual vanity basins, and ample storage. For convenience, the laundry and toilet are located inside.
Step outside to discover a half-acre of beautifully landscaped grounds on a corner block, offering both privacy and space. This property is well-equipped with around 60,000 litres of tank water, mains power complemented by a 5-kilowatt solar system and a septic tank.
The outdoor area is perfect for entertaining, with a timber decked space, a fire pit at the rear of the house, and well-maintained box hedges that add to the charm. Practicality is also a key feature, with a double garage fitted with power and a concrete floor, along with additional storage sheds for wood and gardening supplies.
Located just a short drive from the Lexton General Store, Toll Bar Playground, and sports oval, and only 35 minutes from Ballarat, 155 Skene Street offers the best of both worlds. Nestled over the Great Divide, you can enjoy better weather than Ballarat while still being within easy reach of its amenities.
